User Data Deletion Policy & Instructions

In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Meta/Facebook App Developer terms, you have absolute control over your data. Below are the exact step-by-step instructions to permanently delete your personal information or disconnect third-party social integrations from Ombsy.

Method 1: Instant In-App Account Deletion

If you have an active Ombsy account or are logged into The Synapse dashboard, you can initiate a self-service complete account deletion directly from your settings:

  1. 1Log into your Ombsy account using the Client Portal Login.
  2. 2Navigate to Settings → Account Security & Privacy.
  3. 3Scroll to the bottom Danger Zone and select Delete Account & Purge Data.
  4. 4Enter your password and confirm the deletion prompt. Your user record and API tokens will be immediately queued for permanent erasure.

Method 2: Revoking Meta / Facebook App Permissions

Meta App Compliance & Callback Instructions

If you connected your Facebook account (`professional_dashboard`, Instagram Business, or Meta Login) to Ombsy and wish to remove our app's access and trigger an automated deletion request directly through Meta:

  1. 1Go to your Facebook Profile and click Settings & Privacy → Settings.
  2. 2In the left sidebar, click on Apps and Websites (or click here directly).
  3. 3Locate Ombsy / The Synapse in your list of connected apps and select Remove.
  4. 4Check the box labeled “Allow Facebook to notify Ombsy that your connection was removed” and click Confirm.
Automated Deletion Callback: When you remove Ombsy via Facebook, our system automatically receives a secure signed deletion request (`Data Deletion Callback URL`). All associated OAuth access tokens, social user IDs, and cached profile data are purged from our live databases within 24 hours. You will receive an automated confirmation code verifying the deletion.

Method 3: Manual Email Request

If you cannot access your dashboard or prefer to submit a manual verification request to our Data Protection Office, please follow these guidelines:

Subject Line: Data Deletion Request — [Your Full Name or Account Email]
Required Info: Include your account email address, company/brand name, and whether you want a full account purge or only specific data (such as social login disconnects) removed.

Upon receipt, our privacy team will verify your identity via a secure email link. Once confirmed, all associated records will be purged across our servers within our statutory 30-day window.

Statutory Retention & Audit Log ExceptionsPlease note that while your personal identification, marketing profiles, social media tokens, and brand assets will be permanently deleted, certain anonymized transactional records (such as past tax returns, financial invoices, or emergency tax class certificates) may be retained for up to 7 years in strictly isolated, write-once audit vaults to comply with Internal Revenue Service (IRS), state tax agencies, and federal accounting laws.
